I'm also a globe-trotting Alaskan who runs a boutique digital & media services production house called gracestudioDESIGNS.
While my operational base shifts occasionally, I've previously lived and worked in Tokyo and London, Long Beach, San Diego, Pittsburgh and Kansas City.
I value excellence, integrity, and character. I believe life's biggest successes come from building authentic relational equity with others.
Friends and associates often refer to me as a, "human Swiss army knife— the one with all the tools." A fashion designer by trade, My DNA is that of a creative and serial problem solver. I'm one of those 50/50 left-brain, right-brain people and am equal parts:
creative/holistic/organic thinker
facts/logic/linear thinker
It means, in addition to being a forward-thinking visionary who sees and envisions what's possible, I also strategize, plan, and execute.
I love helping others climb (and conquer) their project and operational mountains. One way I accomplish this is by providing expertise, tools, and endurance required to achieve goals and objectives.
I do this by partnering with them to ensure the most impactful version of their brand story gets told in relatable, compelling, culturally, and contextually relevant ways. While primarily utilizing digital media, I also deploy more traditional storytelling and communications mediums as well.
My area expertise lies in helping companies and organizations look and sound good online— my skillset and experience extend well beyond the realm of marketing. And I have the unique ability to see from a 30,000 foot view as well as down in the weeds.
In front of the screen, I help with things like:
Consulting
Branding, Shaping Brand Identity, Voice & Cross Platform Messaging
Social Media & Websites
Content Strategy, Creation & Copywriting
Online Community Management
Cross Platform Customer Service & Engagement
Behind the screen, I help with things like:
Digital Ecosystem Audits
Platform and Website Optimizations
Information Architecture, Content Strategy & SEO
Developing Operational Policy, Systems, and Playbooks
One-off Initiatives — like websites, video, film, and live productions or events
Building meaningful, long-term relationships with my clients is important to me and I consider it a privilege to do so.
I relish opportunities to work with those who not only have a powerful story themselves, but who intentionally create space for others to tell their stories as well.
Passionate about partnering with people to help them master the digital ring of their marketing and communications circus, I'm also excellent at training, upskilling, and onboarding team members who need to their hats in the ring, too. And whether I do 'the stuff' or teach you & your team how to run a top-notch, digital act, I truly love setting others up for success.
A hopeless techie and gadget geek from the moment I laid eyes on my first computer at age 5 and full-blown theater nerd by age 9, I left my parents' home in Alaska at age 18 to study fashion in LA. Quite the paradox for a girl who loves fishing and the mountains, I must say!
After interning for a Paris-trained, Newport Beach-based courtier and training to be a Buyer at Nordstrom's (a higher-end department store in the US,) I traded my fashion aspirations for globe-trotting adventure.
Armed with little else than a trunk full of creative problem-solving skills and a burning desire to forge ahead (whatever that looked like) — I landed in Tokyo, Japan.
I pivoted my career path by immersing myself in the training, education & cross-cultural communications industry. Publishing, print design, writing & remote team-based project management quickly worked their way into my skill set toolbox.
An easy segue to photography, film & video production ensued as invitations to join project teams arrived. In a serendipitous turn of events (on the heels of much hard work), our team won two awards for a film production and I fell head over heels for the dapper fellow I hired as my cameraman. We built a website together and shortly after, and as they say he 'put a ring on it.' Together, we traveled to even more far-flung places, and I got published as a travel writer.
In 2016, I gathered my menagerie of experiences, talents, and know-how; jigsaw puzzled them together and the multi-faceted, mobile, location-independent digital media production house now known as gracestudiosDESIGNS was born.
If you're feeling lost in the weeds, overwhelmed or simply don't have the time to manage it all and keep up with the rest of your responsibilities and obligations, it's important to ask, "Is it time to get help and hire a digital media services professional?"
